A LOT has been happening here at Perth Fitfam headquarters and it’s time to let the cat out of the bag. Since its foundation in 2015, Perth Fitfam has come a long way from its simple Instagram origins, playing a leading role in connecting YOUR local fitness community.
Now, it’s time for it to go even further.
With a fresh and experienced team of Perth locals on board and a new website in the works, Perth Fitfam will now be providing you with all the local health and fitness news and reviews your heart desires.

Brendan (Brendo) McCormack founded Perth Fitfam in 2015. With 18-years of experience in the fitness industry, he launched Perth Fitfam as a way to showcase all the cool things happening within the local fitness scene. Since then, Perth Fitfam has become the home of the metropolitan fitness community, having connected over 35,000 like-minded West Aussies and being invited to be part of the Media Team for the Arnolds Sports Festival Australia and the Crossfit Games. Brendan is an entrepreneur at his core, having also founded the highly-successful Fitafy – a dating app for people who love fitness – and For Time Marketing, an agency that helps gym owners grow… faster than you can finish Fran.
Katelyn (Kate) Swallow is a journalist, editor and communications professional originally hailing from country WA, and will be overseeing the Perth Fitfam website. With a Master of Journalism from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Arts (English) from the University of Western Australia, she entered the fitness media industry as Editor-in-Chief of flagship publication Women’s Health and Fitness magazine at just 25 years of age and has never looked back. She currently works full time in corporate communications for a Victorian university, is Editor-in-Chief of national female fitness magazine STRONG Fitness Magazine Australia, and also runs her own business, offering copywriting and media training services to health, fitness and lifestyle brands.
Bri Caracciolo jumps aboard the Perth Fitfam Team as Partnerships Director, and is looking forward to building mutually-profitable relationships with Perth-based health and fitness businesses in coming months, while also heading up future events. Bri spends her days working full-time as a personal trainer in Perth’s northern suburbs, and has over four years’ experience in strength training, bodybuilding and CrossFit. An amateur bikini competitor, she is also a professional dancer with over 27 years of theatrical training and acrobatics. Prior to becoming a PT, Bri spent 11 years in executive administration, sales and events management, coordinating local, interstate and overseas events.
Moving from Geraldton to Perth to pursue his passion for cinematography, Jaydon Nguyen joins Perth Fitfam Team as Content Creator; connecting Perth’s lively fitness community by putting the fortitude and strengths of Perth’s athletes on display. Jaydon runs his own business helping personal trainers and business owners grow their online presence across multiple platforms. Detail-orientated and with a creative eye, Jaydon specialises in video creation for platforms such as YouTube, graphic design and infographic creation, and social media management, having previously accumulated over 10k followers on both Instagram and TikTok. Prior to becoming a videographer, Jaydon studied a Double Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Web Media at Curtin University.
